(OPERATIONS)
Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the 112 slip Lake Park Harbor Marina, fishing pier, ship’s store, fueling facilities, and 2 public boat launching facilities, including all phases of the operation, with enhancements to the existing computer-based billing, accounts receivable, slip inventory and collections.
(EXPENSE BUDGET)
Increased annual operating funds from approximately $500,000 in FY 2011-12 to approximately $700,000 in FY 2013-2014.
(DEVELOPMENT)
Directly responsible for planning and design associated with an estimated $500,000 rehabilitation project of an existing seawall and adjacent concrete walkway including improvements to electrical service centers at portions of the marina.
(EVENT PLANNING)
Directly responsible for marketing and expansion of an established “Sunset Celebration” monthly event that included live entertainment, refreshments, and food concessions with average attendance increasing from 25 people per event to a maximum of 200 people per event.
Initiated a marketing awareness campaign for the purpose of distributing collateral materials, display boards, and various visual components at both the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and the Palm Beach International Boat Show.
Directly responsible for the relocation of the annual “TrawlerFest” event from Fort Lauderdale that received national exposure of the marina with participation exceeding 2,500 visitors per event for 3 event days.
(GRANT WORK)
Acquired grant funding in the amount of $300,000 for expansion of an existing breakwater at the entrance to the marina.
2011-2012
Reorganized existing marina staffing responsibilities for employees to enhance collections, maintenance, and general operation of all Lake Park Harbor Marina activities.
(REVENUE)
Increased operating revenue under an established enterprise fund from approximately $450,000 in FY 2011-2012 to $700, 000 in FY 2013-2014.
(PERSONNEL)
Reorganized and implemented new dockage rates and increased marketing efforts for an existing Marine Facilities operation which included increasing the staffing level of 2 full-time employees in FY 1985-86 to 8 full-time employees and 1 part-time employee in FY 2008-09.

Increased annual operating funds from approximately $300,000 in FY 1985-86 to approximately $1.6 mm in FY 2008-09.
(REVENUE)
Increased net operating revenue to the general fund from approximately $150,000 in FY 1985-86 to $1.4 mm in FY 2008-09.
(DEVELOPMENT) Directly responsible for planning and design associated with approximately $1mm of improvements and upgrades to 50 electrical service centers at marina facilities in conjunction with Riverwalk Development in downtown Fon Lauderdale; worked directly with design consultants such as Ed Stone and Associates, Rhett Roy Landscape Architects, and Marina Power Co., Miami FL.
Participated on the RFP selection committee for the City’s design consultant International Marine Resources, Inc., chosen to provide engineering and design services for the $5 mm Las Olas Municipal Marina Redevelopment Project.
(GRANT WORK)
Assisted in acquiring approximately $5 mm in grant funding for Downtown Riverwalk, Cooley’s Landing, and Las Olas Marina, municipal development projects.
Acquired grant funding of approximately $440,000 for dredging the South Fork of the New River in accord with an initiative of the Marine Industry to provide deep water access for mega-yachts.
Acquired grant funding of approximately $1mm to develop municipal day dockage on downtown Riverwalk at five (5) locations.
Acquired grant funding in the amount of approximately $900,000 to redevelop the Fort Lauderdale/Municipal S.E 15th Street Boat Launching Facility
Acquired grant funding in the amount of $255,000 for engineering consultants to design a study for dredging of the Intracoastal Waterway for deep water access adjacent to the Las Olas Municipal Marina, Fort Lauderdale Aquatics Complex, and the Bahia Mar Yachting Center.
(CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PLANNING)
Downtown New River/Riverwalk Marina Facilities – directly responsible for planning and design of electrical service centers and dockage amenities for a 100-slip mega-yacht facility for approximately $1.5 mm.
Cooley’s Landing Municipal Marina participated in the planning, design, and construction of a 30-slip marina development project in the total amount of $3 mm.
Las Olas Municipal Marina – participated on the RFP selection committee for the construction of a 60-slip mega yacht marina redevelopment project in the total amount of $5 mm.
New River Floating Docks – participated in the selection of consultant for design initiatives and drafting of an RFP for new floating dock construction in the total amount of $1.1 mm.
S.E. 15th Street Boat Launching Facility and Marine Complex – directly responsible for planning, designing, and funding initiatives for construction of a $2.6 mm boat launching facility redevelopment project.
Cooley’s Landing Boat Ramp Replacement Project – directly responsible for planning, designing, and funding initiatives for a $320, 000 boat ramp replacement project.
(MASTER PLANNING)
Participated in the Marine Industries Association Master Plan and served on the Intergovernmental Coordination Committee.
Staff liaison to the Fort Lauderdale Waterway Master Plan Committee; a comprehensive plan comprised of members of the City’s Marine Advisory Board, Planning and Zoning Board, and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
(STRATEGIC PLANNING)
Initiated a consultant’s marketing plan to be used as a base to improve customer service levels at all/ City Marina Facilities.
Boat Show Road Show Cooperative Marketing Program – Initiated the “Boat Show Road Show” as an imaging campaign aimed at attending boat shows throughout the Eastern United States and Canada.
Marine Facilities Business Plan – Assisted in developing a framework for an annual business plan for the City’s marina facilities.
