About Jamie Hart

Jamie Hart has gained over 36 years of experience in the Marine Industry. As a Certified Marina Manager (CMM) acquired in 1995, and an active member within the “Association of the Marine Industries (AMI),” his expertise has allowed him to work with many well-known cities in Florida such as the City of Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg. He has been regarded as, “One of the most qualified around,” by Robert O. Cox (Bob Cox) who was a former City Commissioner & Mayor of Fort Lauderdale alongside being the “Grand-Father” of the Marine Industry in Fort Lauderdale. Jamie has taken on many job titles from Marine Consultant, Grant Writing Specialist, and Marina Supervisor to Marina Harbor Director. Jamie’s expertise has allowed him to excel and enhance every partner he has worked with.

An instance of his ability goes with him procuring over Eleven Million Dollars worth of public grants between different departments for their projects to improve their boat launching facilities, docks, existing breakwaters, recreational areas, dredging, electrical service centers, operations, dockage amenities for mega yachts, and overall Marina facilities.  Mr. Hart has recently ventured into providing consultancy services as an “expert witness” providing his knowledge and expertise in a wrongful death lawsuit against a contractor in a marina slip and fall case.

Jamie Hart specializes in Marine Consultancy, Grant Procurement and contract administration, Expert Witness, Capital Improvement Project Funding and acquisition, Marine Event marketing and promotions, Strategic, & Master Planning; Expense Budgeting, Operations & Development, strategic planning. In 2010, Mr. Hart received an Award of Excellence presented by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida. Due to his skills, Jamie has conquered a multitude of milestones for many departments over the years:

City of Fort Lauderdale
Entire oversight and management over 190 slip mega yacht marina with 10 floors and 3 public boat launching facilities. Increased annual operating funds and net operating revenue a total of from $450,000 to approx. $3 million within 20 years. Responsible for planning and designing upgrades of electrical service centers and dockage amenities for a mega yacht facility for approx. $1 million. Implemented New River Floating Docks while insisting on drafting RFP’s. Procured approx. $7 million in grant funding for Downtown New River Marina Facilities, Cooley’s Landing Marina, and Las Olas Marina, primarily for lack of funds to initiate and complete; dredging and signage projects, new and renovated municipal boat dockage facilities, and various redevelopment projects.
Town of Lake Park
Oversight over all phases of operation and development. Increased annual funds by $450,00 within 2 years. Planning and design of a $500,000 rehabilitation project of an existing seawall and walkway. Responsible for marketing and expansion of ‘Sunset Celebration’ & ‘TrawlerFest’ which received National Coverage of the entire Marina. Acquired $300,000 grant funding for an existing breakwater near the entrance of the Marina.
City of St. Petersburg
Awarded an RFP for Grant writing contract administration, at federal, state, and local levels for Marina projects, recreational park expansion, FEMA, dockage renovation, dredging, shoreside power upgrades, and more.
City of Dania Beach
Hired primarily for grant acquisition for approx. $3.6 million from various local & state agencies for redevelopment of the municipal marina. Also, drafted a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the reconstruction of a municipal project & developed bid specifications for design consulting services, and to seek an outside marina management firm to operate the facilities. Additional marine consulting on marina construction and expansion, boat launching facilities, advice on revising or expanding the, existing code of ordinances for marine related regulatory enforcement, including new speed limit zoness, and safety-related restrictions. Administration over derelict vessels within Dania Beach waterways.
